"In Suspense" SALA Exhibition Artist In Residence Sessions - Aphelion Cellar Door

On behalf Aphelion, SALA, and Evette Sunset, I invite you to join us again and again at Aphelion Cellar Door 67 Kays Rd McLaren Vale to observe the creation of an incredible, large scale sculpture, "Listening".

ABOUT THE ARTIST:

For twenty years Evette has explored places in the land and heart, bedding her findings into fellowships of human sized forms built in situ from organic materials. Her gardener’s eye is tuned to landscape rhythms, a potter’s hand to texture, her weaving fingers to material properties. During this making of form outside, a thousand reciprocal thoughts and feelings connect her with nature and humankind; to the work of spinning new threads of seeing into the living world.

ABOUT THE SCULPTURE BEING CREATED: 

LISTENING

A herringbone woven-patterned work using natural materials will be installed on one section of the cabled fence, before the exhibition opening; and I will spend two hours a week from 1-3pm for four weeks completing all four sections, whilst visitors can observe, talk to me and ask questions. I will give a 15min artists talk at the exhibition opening.

Artist in residence dates: 

• Friday 1st August, 1pm - 3pm. 
• Saturday 9th August, 1pm - 3pm. 
• Sunday 17th August, 1pm - 3pm. 
• Monday 25th August, 1pm - 3pm. 

You are most welcome to enjoy a tasting or a glass of wine and nibbles while you watch Evette work. 

During the artist in residence hours, Evette will:

• Create the work in front of your eyes;
• Be happy to talk and answer questions;
• Will demonstrate technique.

Feel free to settle in and enjoy the afternoon. We will be offering wine tastings, wine by the glass or bottle, make-your-own platters and of course Evette's evolving and fully created works to admire.
